A technical incident caused the fear of the children and their families this Saturday, in the middle of the day, on a merry-go-round installed in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis).
According to our information, it is about an air compressor which gave way on this small carousel located on the place Victor-Hugo, near the Saint-Denis basilica.
The accident then caused a loud bang, in circumstances which remain to be determined.
"An accident, purely accidental"
Several children were on the rotating merry-go-round at the time, shortly after 12:30 p.m.
None were affected.
The national police and the Paris firefighters went there to make the first findings.
"The explosion caused great emotion in the city center, but it is an accident, purely accidental," said one this Saturday at the Bobigny prosecutor's office.
No criminal investigation has been launched, ”he continues.
The merry-go-round, operated by a private owner who has signed an agreement with the city of Saint-Denis, had been the subject of a technical inspection about a month ago.
