Val-de-Marne: police officers attacked with knives in Ivry-sur-Seine

The scene took place before the eyes of many passers-by this Saturday morning in Ivry-sur-Seine.

Police officers who intervened near the post office on Boulevard Paul-Vaillant-Couturier were the target of a knife attack by a man in his thirties whom they came to arrest.

At around 11:30 am, a police rescue crew from the Ivry police station intervened in this post office because an agitated individual was disrupting its activity.

He amused himself, for example, by blocking the access door to the establishment and behaving inconsistently.

A policeman was shot in the hand.

Arrived on the spot, the police then saw the man trying to flee.

They then tried to control him, but the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and tried to stab the two police officers who wanted to arrest him.

Use of the electric pulse gun

Aiming at the chest of one of the two officials, the man seriously slashed the hand of one of the officers.

Faced with the man's out-of-control attitude, the crew drew their electric pulse pistol before using it several times to finally manage to arrest the violent individual.

The seriously injured policeman with two tendons in his hand was taken to hospital for treatment. "I wish my injured colleague a speedy recovery," confides Julien Schenardi, regional secretary of the Alliance 94 union.
