Damascus-SANA
The organ has a special feature in classical musical evenings, and it is one of the main instruments in the world opera houses and in Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.
In order to dedicate this instrument in Dar al-Assad, the musician Mansour, who is one of the first graduates of the organ in Syria, revived an evening of solo playing on this instrument and the opera theater embraced it.
The organ was known in ancient Greece and Rome and spread in the Middle Ages in Western Europe, where it occupied a large place in religious rites, through which Mansour presented this evening a program rich in its classical and religious diversity from different eras with pieces by authors John Soelink, Johann Bach, Adolf Hesse, Johannes Brahms and Charles Fedor.
Among the pieces that were played is a choral introduction, I call out to you, O Lord Jesus, for Christ, and a choral introduction. Come now, O Savior of Nations.
It is noteworthy that the musician, Aghid Mansour, worked as a piano teacher and maintenance at the Salhi Al-Wadi Institute since graduating from the Higher Institute of Music in 2005, when he was sent to Germany for this purpose. He supervises the care of the antenna as an expert in Dar Al-Assad since 2001 until now.
The musician Mansour has evenings playing solo on the organ in Damascus and Beirut.
