The death toll from forest fires that broke out over the past days and continues to expand in Turkish provinces has risen to eight, after two bodies were found today, while more people were evacuated from the fire areas.
The Anadolu Agency, affiliated with the Turkish regime, quoted Health Minister Fahrettin Koca as saying that "the two bodies were found in the town of Manavgat in Antalya province," noting that they died in their house, which was damaged by the fire.
The mayor of Bodrum stated that a number of neighborhoods of Bodrum and Marmaris were evacuated, as the fires were set ablaze by strong winds from the nearby Milas area.
Since the fires broke out last Wednesday, more than 864 people have received medical treatment.
Yesterday, an earlier toll indicated that six people were killed as a result of forest fires, while firefighting teams were able to extinguish most of them.
