As-Suwayda, SANA- The activities of the sixth Sultan Al-Atrash Festival for Cultural Creativity, which lasted for four, concluded this evening

The activities of the Sixth Sultan Al-Atrash Festival for Cultural Creativity, which lasted for four days and included various artistic, cultural and heritage activities, concluded this evening.

The closing ceremony included a dance performance by the Cham Arts Troupe, led by the artist Omar Nasser, in addition to honoring the festival participants who contributed to its success.

The closing day’s activities witnessed a cultural day for the Suwayda Governorate Council, which included popular poems with patriotic and heritage content delivered by the poet Bassem Amr and lyrical and musical segments for the students of the Fahd Ballan Institute under the supervision of the artist Adham Azgoul presented by Wissam Maklad and Shorouk Salha, in addition to showing a documentary film on confronting ISIS terrorists in villages The eastern and northern countryside of As-Suwayda and the city of As-Suwayda, entitled "120 minutes", along with very short stories by journalist and writer Samir Fleihan.

As part of the festival’s activities, the Palace of Culture in Suwayda hosted a symposium entitled “Intellectuals in the Great Syrian Revolution” in which the researchers Dr. Fendi Abu Fakhr and Kamal Al-Khofi participated, and another entitled “Heritage and its relationship to art in Jabal Al-Arab” in which the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Ghassan Aboud and two faculty members, Dr. Zina, participated in it. Abu Al-Fadl and Dr. Sonia Alam Al-Din.

The events also included a poetry evening whose themes varied between patriotism, emotional, social and romantic, in which poets Akram Areej, Judy Al-Arbeed, Suhail Abu Fakhr, Fawaz Khayo and Mansour Harb Henedy, followed by a concert by the Farid Al-Atrash Institute band for music.

The Cultural Center in the town of Al-Quraya witnessed a symposium entitled “The Epic of Wadi Al-Sarhan, Documents and Poetry” with the participation of Drs. Abbas Farag and Nayef Shukair, in addition to a traditional folk arts concert by the Al-Adiyat Association band.

The festival activities also included a poetry evening in which poets Osama Al-Hamoud, Thanaa Nasr, Alloush Assaf, Farhan Al-Khatib and Dr.

The festival, which was organized by the Directorate of Culture in Suwayda in appreciation of the heroism of the great mujahid and his companions across the country, was accompanied by the festival nights event, which was added to this session at the Culture Palace with the aim of listening to opinions, ideas and observations to enrich the festival.
