The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform of the Public Authority for Remote Sensing indicated that the high and very high levels of fire risk still dominate most of the forest sites in the northwest of the country for the period from today until next Tuesday.
The head of the platform in the commission, Dr. Rosa Karmouqa, explained in a statement to a representative of SANA that the platform published a map showing the danger of the fire for the forest areas in northwest Syria for the period from 1 to 3 of this month, noting that the high and very high levels of fire risk continued to be controlled “as in the maps of The risk for the previous five days” with an increase in the area of sites affected by the high level of risk and a slight decrease in the area of sites within the very high level of risk.
Garmouqa pointed out that in previous publications, it was indicated in general to warn against igniting any fires within areas of land with levels of danger that exceed the average, as fires can become dangerous and difficult to control unless they are extinguished while they are in their infancy before they expand.
The platform called to be alert to any flame or smoke and not to start any fire, as it is difficult to control fires at high levels, indicating that the emergency number for reporting fires is 188 and 113.
