Yulimar Rojas breaks the world record in triple jump. She is the first Venezuelan to win Olympic gold

The Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas, specialized in triple jump, managed to fly this Sunday and rise 15.67 meters, a mark that allowed her to break the world record and become the first female Olympic champion in the history of her country. 

Before her, only three male athletes had achieved gold in an Olympic Games: the boxer Francisco Rodríguez in Mexico 1968, Arlindo Gouveia for taekwondo in Barcelona 1992 and Rubén Limardo, who in London 2012 prevailed in fencing.

But the world's best 15.50 meter mark, set by Ukraine's Inessa Kravets in 1995, was her main goal.
