Schierling

- In an accident on the B15 near Schierling in the Regensburg district, a young driver wrecked his Lamborghini on Sunday, August 1st.

According to the police, the 19-year-old was in the afternoon around 3:35 p.m. with his co-driver (20) on the said main road in his luxury car in the direction of Regensburg.

At the Allersdorf area, around 1.6 kilometers before the Schierling Süd junction, the driver in his Lamborghini Huracan turned right off the road due to the wet.

The car was thrown around 200 meters along the embankment before it came to rest in a lower-lying rain catchment basin on the side of the road after rolling over several times.

While the 19-year-old driver of the car was able to leave the wreck on his own with the help of the rescue workers who had rushed over, the 20-year-old co-driver had to be freed from the car by volunteers before he was flown to a clinic by rescue helicopter.

The young men were both seriously, but not life-threateningly injured.

Several volunteer fire brigades and the motorway maintenance department were busy with the rescue, recovery and traffic control at the scene of the accident.

The road could only be opened to traffic again after about three and a half hours.
