How is the corona situation developing in Germany?

The incidence continues to rise.

But the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports astonishing number of cases.

Berlin - The 7-day incidence is 17.8 on Monday morning (previous day: 17.5).

847 new corona infections have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

This can be seen from the RKI data on the Covid-19 dashboard.

For comparison: a week ago the value was 958 infections.

However, experience has shown that the number of coronavirus cases after the weekend is lower than during the week.

So there may still be late registrations.

Another corona death was also reported.

This increases the number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic to 91,660.

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, 3,772,109 people in Germany have been shown to have been infected with Sars-CoV2.

91,660 people have died with or from Corona so far.

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 3,656,300.

Corona: Incidence in a federal state over 30

The incidence is currently highest in Hamburg at 32.7.

Berlin (27.2), Bremen (24.8), North Rhine-Westphalia (24.5), Schleswig-Holstein (23.7) and Saarland (21.9) are above the 20 limit.

Corona hotspots in Germany

The infection rate is quite different in the urban and rural districts.

In some regions the numbers are increasing.

  • In Salzgitter (Lower Saxony) the situation has been "unfortunately diffuse again" since the end of July, as it says on the city's website - the 7-day incidence is currently 68.1.

  • In the district of Berchtesgadener Land (51.0), stricter corona rules will apply again from this Monday (August 2).

The district of Berchtesgadener Land (Bavaria) exceeded the incidence value of 50 on Saturday for the third day in a row, said a spokeswoman for the district office on Sunday in Bad Reichenhall.

In many areas such as gastronomy, celebrations or cultural events, a test is again mandatory.

"Even in rental companies, guests have to carry out further corona tests during their stay." This does not apply to people who have been completely vaccinated or who have recovered.

Stricter contact restrictions apply again in the district: a maximum of ten people from three different households are allowed to meet. Children under the age of 14 as well as fully vaccinated and convalescents are not counted, it said.
