Enjoy concerts and comedy in a cozy, fun atmosphere and with enough distance: The Koppel summer at the riding facility in Schwaig near Irschenberg makes it possible.
Now there are two festivals with dialect pop and classic rock.
Irschenberg
- The stage at the foot of the extensive meadow slope was the last bastion in the middle of the forced cultural break in summer 2020: The Otten family braved an open-air festival with an open-air festival at the Irschenberg riding facility. The second edition is now running. The addn driver, Roland Hefter with his band Isarrider and two festivals - one with young music from Bavaria, one with classic rock.
“It is as it is, but it will be what we make of it,” is the Otten family's motto.
Not only is she crazy, she's also crazy about culture.
The decision to provide open-air culture this year with the stage I bought was actually made last year, says Katja Otten.
Even if the many postponement dates made planning difficult, the result was another colorful festival with a lot of music and comedy.
“That is our claim: as colorful as possible,” says Otten.
With picnic blanket, camping chair and parasol
The spacious area offers enough space to keep your distance. “Nobody needs to fear a crowd,” says Otten. Visitors can move around relatively freely, but a hygiene concept with walkways ensures order. A fixed place is allocated to each of the lawns, and the tried and tested pool noodles serve as spacers.
In order to make themselves comfortable during the open air and to prepare for all weather conditions, visitors can bring their own camping chairs, beach shells, blankets and even umbrellas.
The rising meadow, which hugs the stage like a kettle, guarantees a good view even when the umbrellas are open.
Drinks and food are not allowed to be brought along, they are available on site: A food truck stops by.
There is also enough space in front of him to avoid crowds.
The Ottens even thought of providing mosquito repellants.
Dialect pop, comedy and classic rock
On Saturday, August 7th, there will be a festival with dialect pop from three bands for the first time during the Koppelsommer.
The organizers simply put “Schwaig” and “Bavaria” together and named the festival “Schwavaria”.
The bands Briada, Habergoass and Kopfeck are there, and it starts at 5 p.m.
Roland Hefter with the band Isarrider will rock the paddock on Sunday, August 8th (6 p.m.), and the addn driver from Gaißach, who has achieved cult status with his humorous clips on the Internet, will cause a good laugh on Thursday, August 12th ( 8 p.m.).
The “Schwoodstock” - based on the legendary Woodstock - closes the coupling summer on Saturday, August 14th: Three tribute bands perform with the hits from Status Quo, ZZ Top and the Rolling Stones (5pm).
Tickets for the coupling summer at the Irschenberg riding facility (Schwaig 1) are available in advance at all Munich Ticket advance booking offices or at the on-site ticket office, which opens two hours before admission.
