Homs firefighting cadres put out this evening a fire that broke out in a fuel tanker loaded with gasoline after it deteriorated on the Homs-Tartous international road at the “Al-Haythmiya” site.
Brigadier General Ghiath Aqel, Director of Civil Defense in Homs, stated that the cause of the tanker's deterioration was its collision in the middle of the road, which led to it capsizing and igniting, which led to a large fire on both sides of the road and cut it in both directions.
Brigadier Aqel indicated that the Civil Defense elements acted immediately in cooperation with the Homs Fire Brigade, the Homs Refinery and the Public Roads Police.
