From the afternoon to the evening there was a program that the numerous visitors gladly accepted.

The city thus ended the festival week on the occasion of 25 years of youth sponsorship.

Bad Tölz - Why TSV 1860 Munich has so many fans in Bad Tölz, too, could be due to its boxing club - and to a name: Ali Cukur.

The former boxer and current trainer brings this sport close to many teenagers and young men in Bad Tölz.

A documentary film was made about him.

Cukur and director Antje Drinnenberg presented “Lionhearted - Out of Cover” on Friday evening in the gym of the Lettenholzschule.

The nationwide cinema release will not take place until September 23.

"Boxing is like chess"

Before that, the youngest and young adults showed their skills in a specially constructed boxing ring. It became clear that this is not about hitting it. Cukur said: “Boxing is like chess.” Once a girl competed against a boy, sometimes two male opponents watched each other, sometimes two female opponents. Of course, the boxing strokes with the young men were more powerful and precise than with the children. But everyone demonstrated the sport skillfully. Boxing doesn't work without footwork. The constant dancing and hopping sometimes on the balls of the feet, the raised hands in black boxing gloves in front of the face and lightning-fast blows quickly made all the performers sweat. The limited number of spectators in the hall cheered everyone with loud, enthusiastic hoots.

Once a week, Cukur teaches in Bad Tölz as part of the “Open House Sport” run by the Tölz youth development program.

Other sports are freestyle, hip-hop, fun bike, cheerleading and yoga.

Thanks to Florian Bau, the Miracle Foundation and the municipal building yard, there was also “Parcours”, a sport that is about overcoming obstacles.

The device for this was inaugurated at the sports field of the Lettenholzschule at the citizens' festival.

Two students and Florian Bau showed somersaults.

Pictures from the past decades were lovingly put together on several movable walls and showed the history of youth development.

Founded in 1996, club life began at the end of October 1999 in a basement room of the Lettenholzschule.

Almost three years later the community center was added, and today the youth café on Hindenburgstrasse is also an important meeting point.

Franz Späth leads the qualified employees with different focuses as well as a street worker.
