From February 27 next year, people aged 60 to 64 can enjoy a 2 yuan ride discount, but they must first apply for a "Le You Card" personal Octopus card.
Those born in 1957 can choose to submit their applications via the "Octopus App" mobile application or by mail starting today (2nd).
According to the Leyo Card website, eligible persons choose the "Octopus App" to register. They must go through 6 steps and prepare their ID cards, color passport photos and other information. "Hong Kong 01" will list a number of application requirements below.

Citizens can choose to register in two ways, namely the "Octopus App" mobile application, or the application form by mail.

It is worth noting that Hong Kong residents aged 60 to 64 must apply in different birth years. Applicants born in 1957 can submit applications from August 2 to 31; applicants born in 1958 can submit applications in September; 1959 Applicants born in 1960 can submit in October; applicants born in 1960 can submit in November; applicants born in 1961 can submit in December.
As for those who will be 60 years old within 3 months from January 1, 2022, they can also submit applications.
"Le You Card" will accept applications in phases starting from August 2nd.

Since August is only for those born in 1957 to register, if the applicant is found to be out of age after uploading his ID card, a reminder that "electronic application has not been opened to your age group" will appear, and the subsequent registration process cannot be continued.

In addition to the mobile app, eligible citizens can also fill in the application form together with a color or black and white copy of a valid Hong Kong ID card and a color passport photo (1.5 inches x 2 inches) and submit it by post.
Application forms are available at 97 MTR stations with customer service centers, 20 Home Affairs Enquiry Centers of the Home Affairs Bureau of the Home Affairs Department, 4 Licensing Offices of the Transport Department, and 210 government-funded district centers for the elderly, neighbourhood centers for the elderly and activity centers for the elderly.
