Dietramszell - Jonas is a beaver.

The beavers are blue and live on the first floor of the new kindergarten in Ascholding.

The hedgehog group rooms have green door frames and those of the day nursery yellow.

That makes it easy for Jonas to find his way around the big house with its many rooms after moving.

“The new kindergarten is nice,” he says.

In Jonas' old kindergarten there was a lot less space and fewer children.

The facility has not been able to meet the increasing demand for childcare places for a long time.

Since 2008 the association has been campaigning for a new kindergarten to be built in Ascholding.

The building was officially inaugurated on Friday morning.

Förderverein collects more than 27,000 euros

After the blessing of Dean Thomas Neuberger, Mayor Josef Hauser presented the symbolic key to the kindergarten director Anett Görmer. To celebrate the day, Jonas and his kindergarten friends have rehearsed a country man, which they - almost all of them in traditional dirndls or lederhosen - present to the numerous guests of honor. The new kindergarten on Eglinger Straße next to the large Edeka market is a joint effort of the whole village, explained Görmer. The development association collected a total of more than 27,000 euros, which flowed into child-friendly garden design. When setting up the play equipment, not only did the members lend a hand, but also the parents of the new kindergarten children, the building yard employees and the boys' association. The association for one another financed the large floor trampoline;numerous other donors from the area also contributed to the equipment.

Mayor wants to sit down at the Edeka cash register

Josef Hauser especially thanked Kaspar März-Kastenmüller, who had given his land to the community for the construction of the kindergarten "on favorable terms".

Even the town hall chief himself intends to make a contribution, as he announced: “I will sit down at the cash register at Edeka.” The Edeka operator März-Kastenmüller then wants to donate the first 500 euros he takes to the kindergarten.

The last detail work is in progress

Jonas was one of the first children to move into the new building in May. Two kindergarten groups with up to 25 children each, an after-school care group and a crèche group are to be accommodated here in the future. Two integration spaces with their own therapist room are also planned. The last detail work is still going on on the elevator, in the conversation room for the parents and in the crèche rooms, says Görmer. And two positions for the after-school care center and the crèche still have to be filled. She hopes that she can do this by September and then regular operations can begin.

Jonas is a little sad that he won't see it anymore.

The six-year-old will start school in the fall.

Until then, he can still make extensive use of the space to play with his friends.

Above all his new favorite devices: the swing and the tunnel in the garden.
