According to sources, singer Huang Yaoming was arrested by the Independent Commission Against Corruption on suspicion of violating the "Elections (Corrupt and Illegal Conduct) Ordinance" this morning (2nd) and has now been released on bail.

Huang Yaoming is a member of the "Da Ming Faction". In recent years, he has often spoken out on social issues. In 2012, he participated in the anti-national education movement. In 2014, he supported the umbrella movement. He sang the song "Pull Up the Umbrella" and was later blocked by the mainland.
As of 2019, Huang Yaoming has participated in numerous anti-revision demonstrations.
