Panic for serological examination: "Want to know if you need a third dose"
Hospitals and HMOs have reported widespread response to a call to get vaccinated in a third dose, but not the entire elderly population is in a hurry to get the shot.
Contrary to the message conveyed by Prof. Ash, many choose to conduct a preliminary test of the level of antibodies in the blood, and decide based on the results.
"Prices are popular, so why not?"

The queues for the third vaccine against Corona have been officially opened, and many people aged 60 and over, the population eligible for the vaccine dose, prefer to have a serological test on the spot, and make an informed decision based on the level of antibodies in their blood.
Some respondents said they understood that other countries operate in this order, and others said they were not interested in getting the extra dose if they did not need it.
"I was debating whether to do a serological test, and as I read it I saw that in other countries it is acceptable," said Shlomo Tintponber, 67, from Givatayim.
"I made an appointment for a third dose regardless of the test, I just want to know what my condition is. It's just a blood test and the prices are staggering, so why not?", He explained.
In contrast, 66-year-old Yevgeny Siforkin from Netanya is waiting for the results to make an appointment for the additional vaccine.
"I came to do a serological test before the vaccine. If the test shows I have enough antibodies, I will wait for the more advanced vaccine."

The influx of serological tests came even though the director general of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Nachman Ash, clarified over the weekend that it is not necessary to do so before receiving the additional dose. This is why they decide whether to get vaccinated.
I want to emphasize - there is no need for that.
Such an examination may create confusion.
There is no medical justification for stipulating the decision whether to get vaccinated as a result of a serological test, "he said.
Maya Bar, 68, from Tel Aviv, explained her decision:" The Ministry of Health asked us all to get a third vaccine, but I want to check first if I should.
"I know that the director general of the Ministry of Health, Ash, said there was no need, but I am worried."
Wait with the extra portion.

The serological test is performed similarly to a blood test, which detects the level of antibodies after receiving a vaccine or after recovering from the corona.
The test results arrive after 36 hours, and can be performed at the health funds or hospitals for NIS 250.
HMOs avoid editing them for their insureds, so many come to hospitals.
According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, vaccinated people who have been vaccinated abroad and arrived in Israel are required to perform a serological test, and only after receiving the results are they released from isolation. They constitute a significant proportion of the subjects in this way.
