A bicycle theft occurred in Tseung Kwan O last Friday (July 30). A victim reported that a bicycle worth about $6,000 was stolen while it was parked at the bicycle parking lot at No. 11 Tong Chun Street. A bicycle chain worth 100 yuan was also stolen.
The officers of the Tseung Kwan O Police District Task Force searched through closed-circuit television investigations and identified the suspects involved. At about 6 pm today (2nd), they arrested a 48-year-old local man named Jiang suspected of theft in Yiming Village.
The arrested man was taken to the police and detained for investigation.
The police emphasized that theft is a serious crime and can be sentenced to a maximum of 14 years in prison. The police also called on the public to place their bicycles in legal bicycle parking spaces and use strong locks to enhance security.
