As part of the renovation of the Poing S-Bahn station, there will be no additional ramp on the north side.
The local council has spoken out against the construction.
Poing - Nothing will be changed in the current barrier-free renovation of the Poing S-Bahn station by Deutsche Bahn.
Before the summer break, the local council rejected by a large majority (with two votes against) an urgency request by the FDP parliamentary group to build a ramp at the rear exit of the park-and-ride building to the platform in the direction of Munich at its own expense.
As reported, the previous ramp will disappear in the course of the renovation and a new staircase will be built instead.
Poing: Barrier-free renovation by autumn
According to the railway, maintaining the ramp is not possible because the new platform will be raised by 20 centimeters and the slope of around 20 percent would then be too large and inadmissible, explain the railway and the municipal administration in a statement.
The maintenance or renewal of this ramp was rejected during the planning approval procedure (in the event of a unanimous municipal council resolution).
As an alternative to the north platform (direction Munich), a ramp will be built west of the new pedestrian and bicycle underpass.
According to the administration, an additional ramp would be "not covered by the funding decision of the Free State of Bavaria" and would have to be paid for by the municipality of Poing.
The gross costs for this were estimated at 200,000 euros.
Due to the barrier-free renovation, the Poing S-Bahn station is closed during the summer holidays, there are no S-Bahn trains.
