The average homicide victim in Washington, DC, nearly tripled the number of deaths caused by the Corona virus as of the first of this month.
And the American Fox News channel, citing data from the Metropolitan Police Department, reported that last July recorded 21 murder victims, compared to eight deaths from the Corona virus.
The capital also recorded 100 murders by the 10th of last month, as the number of crimes reached 113 by the 30th of the same month, compared to 108 crimes in the same period last year.
"We're in an epidemic right now when it comes to crime in this community and we have to start acting," said Trayon White, a council member in the Eighth Division in Washington.
The United States is witnessing frequent shootings in light of the laws that legitimize the bearing of arms as an individual right, and the phenomenon of violence has spread in American society.
