How to make a home air conditioner (@ sam.southall02)

The following tip is intended for people who do not have an air conditioner in the house - or at least not in all the rooms - or for those who are stuck, God forbid, with a broken air conditioner at the height of the heat.

Tiktok user shared a simple way to build a do-it-yourself air conditioner that may save you on these hot summer days.

Sam, called at tiktok @ sam.southall02, explains in the video that the first thing to do is close all the windows and doors in the room you want to cool down.

He then places a two-liter frozen water bottle behind a fan and turns it on.

The theory behind this method is that the frozen water bottle will make the air absorbed in the fan cooler - and this is definitely an upgrade to the hot air that the fan usually blows towards us.

The video garnered over a million views on Tiktok when some suggested using ice packs rather than a bottle as bottles may explode in the freezer as the ice expands.

Some viewers were impressed with the trick: "A fan in a closed room will not help so the addition of a frozen bottle is definitely a short-term solution," one reporter and another added: "I'm going to put gallons of ice behind my fan now."

Others were less enthusiastic: "Just buy an air conditioner. It's pretty cheap nowadays," one reporter and another concluded, "It's a solution for the stingy."
