Fürth - Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger's (Free Voters) skepticism about vaccinations has caused excitement and controversy in the Bavarian coalition in recent days.
Especially Prime Minister Markus Söder * (CSU) does not like the vaccination refusal of his deputy at all.
Even Health Minister Klaus Holetschek sharply criticized Aiwanger's statements critical of the vaccination on Monday (August 2).
Meanwhile, headwinds are also coming from the population.
A doctor from Fürth now vented his anger at Aiwanger in an emotional video on Instagram.

Dr. Manfred Wagner, medical director at the Fürth clinic, criticizes Aiwanger's statements in a video that he made in an interview with
Deutschlandfunk
on the subject of vaccinations. "I was really stunned how someone who bears political responsibility as Deputy Prime Minister of Bavaria can give such an interview," says Wagner indignantly. In the interview, Aiwanger reaffirmed his stance not to be vaccinated. As a reason, he named "massive vaccine side effects" that he would have learned from his personal environment.
He will only recommend vaccination if he is convinced of a vaccine.
There will be "better vaccines," said Aiwanger.
His way out of the Corona * pandemic therefore still includes "mask, distance, testing".
According to Wagner, the whole interview was "rhetorically skilful", which he also sees as the danger.
Aiwanger knows how to put things "in the wrong context and then make it sound logical".

For the doctor from Fürth, Aiwanger's statements are a mixture of “false information, disinformation paired with ignorance”, which Aiwanger consciously admits in some places. “One of the misinformation is, for example, that he says that the effect would not be seen that way with the elderly vaccinated. That's just not true. You can see it in the current incidence figures, ”says Wagner.
In addition, Aiwanger would often contradict himself in the interview and had no real plan on how to get out of this pandemic.
“I can only warn against these political rat catchers,” says Wagner.
"Without a good and sustainable vaccination campaign, we will not overcome this pandemic".
He therefore considers it irresponsible to “play with fire like that”.
The only alternative to vaccination is that everyone should be infected with the virus.
