The Customs received a report earlier that a restaurant in Tai Po was selling foods purported to be "abalone" and suspected that the foods were accompanied by false trade descriptions. After investigation, customs officers arrested the 47-year-old female restaurant director today.
The case is still under investigation.
The customs reminds merchants to abide by the "Regulations" and consumers should also patronize reputable merchants when purchasing goods.
According to the "Regulations", any person who supplies goods with false trade descriptions in the course of business or business, or possesses goods with false trade descriptions for sale, is an offence.
