The mother of the two girls found dead on July 21 near Brest was indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention, the Brest prosecutor's office announced on Tuesday (August 3).

During her police custody Monday, she confirmed "to
be at the origin of the voluntary and premeditated death of her children
" as well as the motive of the crime, namely "
the marital breakdown
" announced by her husband, details the press release the Brest prosecutor, Camille Miansoni.
Hospitalized just after the discovery of the two children, due to "
lesions compatible with the ingestion of caustic products
" during medical examinations, the mother of the family was auditioned for the first time on July 23.
Police custody was lifted after a few hours for medical reasons, according to the prosecutor.
She had not been able to give precise indications on the way by which she had succeeded in bringing death to her daughters, evoking "
a total amnesia on this episode
".

The facts took place on the night of July 20 to 21, the two girls of "
almost
" 4 and 6 years old were found dead at their home in Relecq-Kerhuon (Finistère). The autopsy of the bodies had concluded with "
death by drowning
" and the mother of 35 years had also indicated to have sought to "
put them to sleep with drugs
".
