The Lebanese Hezbollah called for the necessity of putting a final and unequivocal end to the internal manipulation and external exploitation of the explosion in the port of Beirut last year, accusations and distortion of facts at the expense of truth and justice.
In a statement on the occasion of the first anniversary of the port explosion on August 4, 2020, the party called on the concerned judicial authorities to deal with this issue with the care, seriousness and responsibility it deserves, away from pressures and interests, calling for the disclosure of facts in full transparency before the Lebanese and international public opinion.
The statement stressed the necessity of Lebanese solidarity and cohesion away from cheap political exploitation, settling accounts and internal conflicts, in order to reach an impartial investigation into the port explosion incident.
On August 4, 2020, an explosion rocked the port of Beirut, leaving tens of martyrs and thousands injured, in addition to massive material damage.
