The waiting time is over: the new kindergarten bridge in Holzkirchen was lifted on Tuesday night.
Everything should be ready for the new school year.

“I was impressed with how the structure was used,” she says.

On Tuesday night from one to shortly after three o'clock, the Porr company installed the new, 27-ton kindergarten bridge over the railway line between Frühlingsstrasse and Austraße in Holzkirchen with the help of a rail crane and twelve men. The structure had previously been made in the factory and was stored for a few days on the meadow on Valleyer Weg.
According to city hall spokeswoman Sissina Weber, there were no restrictions in rail traffic on the Munich-Lenggries route because the work was carried out during the night train break.
"So between the last and first train." The rest of the traffic was not hindered by it.
Residents, on the other hand, had to accept a few side effects.
Because of the illumination of the construction site, it was sometimes a little brighter, and noise could not be avoided.
However, the neighbors had been informed in advance.
According to Weber, the total costs are “within the envisaged range”, most recently around 1.1 million euros.
However, the community can look forward to grants.
Among other things, according to Weber there are 83,000 euros from the Free State, the amount of further funding will be determined shortly.
According to Weber, the remaining work is now pending. For example, the bearing plinths have to be cast, the lane crossing and the railings have to be installed, and the lighting and a bird protection system have to be installed. Asphalt work is also still necessary. The structure should be ready by the end of August. And so it can be used for the new school and kindergarten year. Eibl is delighted that the important connection between the industrial park east and the town center is available again for the students. "Then you no longer have to ride your bike on the road bridge on Rosenheimer Strasse."
With the new bridge, an era of waiting comes to an end. The connection was cut at the end of 2018: At that time, the municipality had the structure closed for static reasons. This was followed by a demolition and a nerve-wracking wait, because: "If a lot of people have a say, it becomes difficult," says Eibl. In contrast to the wooden predecessor model, the current structure is made of steel and is one meter wider, so that pedestrians and cyclists have space next to each other. At the highest point, the bridge rises above its forerunner by 1.15 meters so that any later electrification of the railway line can be implemented. “Nevertheless, the bridge makes a filigree impression,” says Eibl.
