Neufahrn neighborhood help has not put its hands on its lap during the pandemic.

Adjustments have been made, especially when it comes to childcare.

Neufahrn

- Despite or perhaps because of Corona, neighborhood help had enough to do last year.

Those responsible let the time pass in review.

In addition, the board of directors was unanimously confirmed at the annual general meeting for another two years.

As of July, the association had 204 full members and 15 sustaining members.

On the income side, there are membership fees, government subsidies (for 2020 it was 10,890 euros) and donations.

Expenses are made for rent, wages and salaries, purchases and voluntary expense allowances.

Foster care: Limited operation due to Corona

In November 2019, the local council approved the neighborhood aid's application to set up additional day care in the former café rooms at Lohweg 25.

In September 2020, the two "Lohzwergerl" groups were set up there.

"Both positions are in high demand and work well with eight places each," said chairwoman Martina Bock.

Due to the pandemic, however, the foster homes could not have opened as planned. "Overall, we can look back on a really stressful year 2020, in which the Neufahrn childminder project nevertheless managed to achieve the long-term goal of stable replacement care in a large day care facility," says Bock. With the two new large day care centers, parents in Neufahrn have a wide range of care options for children younger than three years.

The children's park has also moved: to the premises of the former crèche on the ground floor. There, children between the ages of one and a half and three years can make their first contacts with their peers. “We are always happy to receive registrations, because entry during the year is definitely possible.” A new addition to the neighborhood help is the “Family Counseling” office hour, which Birgit Severinac offers every Thursday from 9.30 am to 10.30 am in the multi-purpose room. From September 14th, mothers and fathers with small children can meet every Tuesday from 9.30 a.m. in a play group in the multi-purpose room of the Neufahrn neighborhood help. With the new midwife Claudia Söllner, childbirth preparation courses will be offered from July in the multi-purpose room on Thursdays from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. There are also postgraduate courses, baby massage,Birth preparation courses and baby parent courses. Another new feature is Diana Vilgertshofer-Fischer's offer to women with previous breast cancer, which is supported by the Freising Cancer Aid Association Maria & Christoph.

Different bazaars

In addition to childcare, the neighborhood help also organizes various bazaars: the one for children's items, for example, has been around for eleven years.

The sale takes place during office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and once a month on Saturdays from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The bazaar is also open on Wednesdays from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

A book bazaar was also opened in 2010.

The books donated to the association can be purchased during the sales hours of the bazaar for two euros per kilo.

In addition, a cycling sports and large parts bazaar was held in March 2020 under the title “Everything that rolls”, followed in autumn by the equivalent “Everything that slides” for skis and the like.

It is not yet clear whether the event can be reissued this autumn due to the corona situation.
