(CNN) -
New York City will require proof of covid-19 vaccination to enter all indoor restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Tuesday.
"If you are not vaccinated, unfortunately, you will not be able to participate in many things," De Blasio said.
"If you want to participate fully in our society, you have to get vaccinated."
This policy will go into effect in the coming weeks.
