The 10th Constitutional Court of the Superior Court of Lima admitted a writ of habeas corpus that seeks to annul the appointment of Guido Bellido Ugarte as president of the Council of Ministers of Peru by the new president, Pedro Castillo.

The lawsuit was filed by four citizens.

The court determined that the appeal was admissible in favor of the "police officers and the Armed Forces for their threat to their integrity and personal liberty."

The plaintiffs argue that this threat is based on "the appointment to the highest positions of the Executive Power."

Guido Bellido, appointed by the new head of state as president of the Council of Ministers, has opened a preliminary investigation by the Public Ministry for the alleged crime of apology to terrorism.

A source from the Public Ministry confirmed to CNN that there is a preliminary investigation against Bellido and that an extension of the deadline for taking his statement is being requested.

CNN has tried to contact Bellido, but has yet to get his reaction to these allegations.

This appeal also requested the annulment of the appointment of the professor and former union leader Iber Maraví Olarte as Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion.
