Police catch two shoplifters - 25-year-old spat at officers when arrested

Nuremberg - On Monday afternoon (August 2), two suspected shoplifters were arrested in downtown Nuremberg *.

A police officer was spat at several times, as reported by the Central Franconia Police Headquarters *. 

At around 3:15 p.m., an employee of a drugstore observed two men stowing several perfumes in their backpacks and leaving the store without paying for the goods.

The police caught one of the two suspects and were able to arrest him in time.

During the arrest, the 25-year-old spat at a police officer several times.

The police found the stolen goods hidden in the rucksack to be worth around 300 euros.  

The second suspect was arrested under direct duress shortly after his escape from another patrol.

The 18-year-old tried to take goods worth almost 800 euros.

Investigative proceedings are now being initiated against the suspects.
