The quarterfinals of the Olympic basketball tournament will be held today (Tuesday), and each game promises to be more intriguing than the other.
The focus will of course be on the big battle between the United States and Spain, when even earlier, Luka Doncic is trying to sweep Slovenia to the semi-finals when they meet Germany.
Italy and France will then face off, and in the final game of the day, Australia and Argentina will meet.

Slovenia - Germany
At least so far, the Olympic tournament is registered in the name of one player: Luka Doncic.
The dizzying Slovenian star who has yet to lose an official game in national team uniform looked stunning in his and his team’s debut at the Olympics, and almost on his own made the Slovenes clear candidates to reach the podium.
The perfect balance they achieved in the home stage allowed them to achieve the most comfortable opponent in the quarterfinals: Germany won only once in the home stage (Nigeria), lost to Australia and Italy and still advanced to the next stage from third place, but is less talented and brilliant than years ago.
The winner will meet the winner between Italy and France.
How will it end this time?

Spain - United States (7:40)
The Clasico of Olympic Basketball. This is a remake of the unforgettable Olympic final from 2008 and also from 2012, in both cases the Americans won after a big fight of La Rucha. The two also met in the semi-finals of 2016, and even then the United States had the upper hand, but in all three cases the difference did not exceed 11 points, and each time Spain touched a big splash. This time it is the last dance of the Spanish golden generation, who lost to Luka Doncic and Slovenia and therefore got into an encounter with the gold favorite.
The balance between the two teams in the Olympics and World Championships stands at 2:16 in favor of the Americans, who showed great vulnerability in the preseason games as well as in the home stage, with a loss to France.
The winner will meet the winner between Australia and Argentina in the semi-finals.
We have a special opportunity against a very talented team, we will have to show that we are better from the first moment to the last, and believe in ourselves, "Pao Gasol said ahead of the match." I want to do something special in this Olympics.
The United States has a lot of weapons, we will try to make it as difficult as possible for Kevin Durant.
"Every difficulty also includes an opportunity to do something amazing and historic."
Clear favorite.

Italy - France (11:20)
The great victory over the United States placed France as one of the leading candidates to go all the way and perhaps even win the first gold medal in its history, having previously won the silver medal twice (1948, 2000).
Vincent Cola's team finished only sixth in the previous two Olympics, but this time it is a clear favorite to reach at least the semi-finals.
Along with the victory over the Americans, the French defeated the Czech Republic by 20 points and Iran by 17 points, in a game in which they allowed their big star Owen Fournier to rest.
But the rivalry will not come tomorrow to be eliminated: despite a less glittering squad than ever, the Regions have impressed at the home stage and are presenting a united and militant group, who want to reach the podium for the first time since the 2004 silver medal.
A stubborn battle is expected.

Australia - Argentina (15:00)
The Boomers have never won an Olympic medal, but in the betting agencies they are ranked second after the United States as favorites for gold.
The ability at the home stage, with convincing victories over Nigeria, Italy and Germany, only raised the bar of expectations, with the unending Patty Mills once again looking monstrous, as in previous championships.
But it will not be easy tomorrow: the only remnant of the Argentine golden generation is 41-year-old Luis Scola, but the Albiceleste found new strength and managed to recover from the losses to Slovenia and Spain in the home leg with a big show against Japan, which lifted them to the quarterfinals.
Pecondo Campasso and Nicola to Fabrobitola will try to help Scola and bring the Argentines back to the semi-finals of the Olympics, after being knocked out in Rio in the quarter-finals.
