Dozens of Palestinians, during a solidarity stand today in the town of Dura, south of Hebron in the West Bank, called on the international community, human rights and humanitarian institutions and the International Red Cross to urgently intervene to save the lives of prisoners in Israeli occupation detention centers, especially the sick and those who are on hunger strike.
According to Wafa Agency, the participants in the sit-in organized in front of the municipality confirmed that the Palestinian prisoners suffer from violations of their rights by the occupation, amid difficult, inhumane conditions, brutal practices and a deliberate policy of medical negligence, especially against the hunger strikers.
The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority confirmed in a statement today that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to violate the rights of Palestinian prisoners, foremost of which is deliberate medical negligence, in clear violation of all international conventions and covenants, at a time when about 5,300 Palestinian prisoners inside the occupation’s prisons are facing harsh detention conditions, including about 55 prisoners in need. urgent medical intervention.
