Comes back in a big way.

The embossments we remember from old apartments, which were considered unattractive in the 1990s, recur in a big way and conquer the world of interior design and architecture.

Returning to old trends, like painted floors, makes a comeback with renewed luxury and full of Italian style in sizes you were unfamiliar with.

The terms "Venetian flooring" or "terrazzo" are used to describe any surface covered with crushed marble chips or aggregates, selected in dimension and color, and applied manually to create homogeneous surfaces, or patiently laid to realize stunning patterns.

The traditional art of Venetian terrazzo is reinvented and presented in modern forms of expression, without borders and with extra-large panels.

Today the terrazzo is built so that it can accommodate all possible requests, including size and finish.

The new technology, called Venetianica, enables production capacity according to each customer and need.

The terrazzo panels are manufactured as large-format panels, internally reinforced by fiberglass mesh (which is then calibrated), ground in a polished or honed finish and then supplied ready for installation.

In this way, customers can be provided with a product that offers results that cannot be achieved during the typical production on the site, usually due to logistical difficulties and time constraints.

The technology provides an innovative system of large panels, combining high art with simple and fast discounting techniques.

Sivan Kaufman, director of architecture for architects at the "Greenhouse" complex for home design, says: "Both designers and architects and private clients are rediscovering the material."

The origin of terrazzo is unclear, but it is known that this type of flooring reached the highest Faro in Venice, thanks to the combination of quality and art.

Artists of Friulian descent have worked in the city since the 15th century and first performed the "pasteloni", a flooring made of Cocciopesto.

Later, they began to insert more and more dense marble chips and turn them into expensive and refined ornaments.

The terrazzo now allows designers and architects to navigate the design and material districts, from the size of the board and the type of discount, through the layout of the aggregates and the level of density to the look of the finish.

In addition, the terrazzo is environmentally friendly and made from a completely natural raw material, without resins.

Architect and interior designer Yehoshua Shashua explains: "In the past, especially in Israel, terrazzo was the name of a simple and undeveloped tile. It is now returning in large, a polished and unique block. The internal gravel parts come in varying shapes, colors and shades. "The pallets can also come in large sizes and allow a uniform appearance, which is not seen as connections. Such cladding is suitable for homes, apartments, lobbies and commerce."

Sivan Kaufman concludes: "At the Greenhouse we have a new terrazzo collection in the exhibition space, which is very surprising and exciting among designers and visitors. The collection looks like a wonderful surface, a real piece of jewelry for the home. Terrazzo is today the hottest trend in the world of interior design and architecture. And handcrafted in height quality. He is designed for flooring and cladding walls that come as huge slabs or small tiles according to convenience and need of application. At the design level, the terrazzo produces endless options depending on the taste of the designer or client. In the hall you can sit with an expert consultant and choose the most suitable product for you. "Terrazzo panels can be changed and varied from size, hue, size of inner stone in the panel, matte / glossy / sandblasted / combed finish, etc. It provides a unique and timeless fingerprint, the product of the designer's imagination."
