Nuremberg - On Monday afternoon (August 2nd) officers from the Nuremberg * -Mitte police station arrested a couple.
Both people were suspected of allegedly offering "real" gold rings for sale, as the Central Franconian Police Headquarters * wrote in a report.
Nuremberg: woman wanted to cheat a jeweler - officials search the apartment of fraudsters
Around 2 p.m., an employee of a downtown jewelry store called the police.
He reported that a woman had offered him supposed real gold rings.
She wanted around 2000 euros to sell the jewelry.
However, a check revealed that the rings were not made of real gold, they just looked deceptively real.
Their quality was estimated at around 50 euros.
The notified police officers checked both the 45-year-old woman who had offered the rings in the store and a 48-year-old man who is believed to be her husband.
During a search, the police found a five-digit amount in cash and a car key.
Police in Nuremberg are investigating fraudsters
The associated vehicle, which according to the two suspects should be in North Rhine-Westphalia, was found in a side street.
In the car, the officers found, among other things, a one-hand knife and a steel rod, in addition to more cash.
The items were secured.
The woman and the man are now being investigated on suspicion of fraud and violations of the law on weapons.
The commissariat for fraudulent offenses of the Kripo Nuremberg is currently checking whether the couple may have been involved in other similar offenses.
