Torrential rains in June: the state of natural disaster recognized for 13 new municipalities in the Oise

After Beauvais and the surrounding towns, hit by the torrential rains of the night of June 21 to 22 on Beauvaisis, it is therefore the turn of 13 other municipalities * of the Oise to be recognized as a state of natural disaster. for the floods and other mudslides that occurred at the beginning of June (the city of Beauvais had already obtained this recognition).

For the elected Camblysian, this recognition of the government is "far from being a surprise" after the storms which had hit Chambly on the evening of June 2.

“It was spectacular enough, we were still the first town in France to be affected,” recalls the city councilor.

A new step which will make it possible to speed up things for the hundred or so inhabitants "who expressed difficulties" in the aftermath of the bad weather.

A period of three months before being compensated

In fact, the state of natural disaster guarantees the victims compensation "within three months from the date on which they were given the estimated statement of damage and loss suffered, or, if it is later , from the date of publication of the interministerial decree, ”recalls the prefecture of Oise.

“We were waiting for this decision,” adds Alain Duclercq, mayor (SE) of Mesnil-en-Thelle. And the chosen one to shed the various impacts on his town: "We had flooded cars, flooded basements, single-storey houses in the water, but also businesses ..." Damage that will be assessed according to the supporting documents provided. To benefit from this specific compensation regime, it is therefore strongly recommended to keep damaged objects in the event of appraisals carried out by insurance companies.
