The virus does not circulate wildly through the population either.

"Finding something spontaneously over the weekend can be difficult, especially close to the lake or the mountains," said the spokeswoman for the Chiemsee-Chiemgau tourist region. 

Continuous rain, autumn weather and the risk of storms do not seem to deter holidaymakers either.

In the Zugspitzdorf Grainau all that is said is that some tourists do not come to the campsites.

“The visitors come to us because of the mountains and the hiking opportunities, but they usually don't plan a beach holiday.”
