While the judo team celebrated an exciting medal in the team competition and Artium Dolgofyat provided one of the all-time highlights of Israeli sports with a gold medal in the ground exercise in gymnastics, one prominent voice was barely heard.
Yael Arad, the former Olympic medalist, who criticized the judo team in the days before winning the medal, did not respond.
Yesterday (Monday) she published a post congratulating Dolgofiat and the judo team, and even apologized for her remarks in a radio interview, in which she said about the Israeli judokas: "You see a competition where they were relatively passive, we did not see virtuosity.
