Britain's Lancaster University has revealed the design of a model network that uses a new generation of radiation detectors to help predict and better understand weather events in space.
According to the university's official website, radiation detectors will be used to help protect vital safety systems and infrastructure from the effects of severe space weather by detecting disturbances in the upper atmosphere and space environment around Earth and anything that could disrupt technology and cause many risks.
The university added: The new network will also provide global monitoring of the weather in space, giving humanity an opportunity to prepare for the impact of severe space weather on energy networks, global navigation systems via satellite, spacecraft, aircraft, wireless communications and control systems, which could cause major disasters if this technology is disrupted. .
