Sad what is happening between the Judo Association and the Olympic Committee.

Real, sad.

This is the most successful Olympics in the history of Israel, one after which we need to knock on the table and ask the state for more budgets for the Olympic industries that have proven themselves here.

But instead of everyone being bound together, as one fist, for the cause, we have seen here that there is judo and there is everything else.

There is an Olympic Committee and there is Judo.

There is an ugly and unnecessary struggle that could degrade the sport down, precisely at its most beautiful time.

For us as a media it is wonderful.

Come to talk to Oren Samadja after the tremendous achievement on Saturday with the medal in the national team, and the national coach also shoots Yael Arad, without mentioning her name, and also Moshe Ponti with emphasis on his name and the obligation to appoint him chairman of the next Olympic Committee.

In three months, Yigal Carmi will end his two-term Olympic term as chairman of the Olympic Committee, and the person who is supposed to succeed him is Arad, who is here as a senior management member and professionally responsible at the same time.

Arad is supposed to net, but he did not say the last word.

Ponty has not yet officially stated that he is running for office.

Anyone who knows him closely knows that he will not go on to lose.

If he feels he has no high probability of winning, he will not run for office.

Ponti's problem is that he does not have a strong grip on the Israeli Olympic Committee.

He did not attend the meetings of the Olympic Committee.

Among the board members who come from the unions and centers there is, it seems, great support for Arad.

The last thing Ponty will want is to lose this battle to Arad so he still does not declare that he is running for office.

The one who declared for him on the Saturday after the medal is Samadja.

Asked the people who set out to wake up and make sure Ponty would be the boss of all the Olympic disciplines.

She was wrong and she knows it.

Samadja and Arad are a story in themselves.

Both took medals at the Barcelona Olympics, day after day.

Arad was first, with the money.

Instead of having a good connection between them, there is a cold war that has flared up here very much.

Arad is always ready to assist in professional surgery.

With the journalists here she spoke towards the end of the days of personal battles and stressed that nothing is useless.

The journalists listened.

Tried to understand why there is no success.

Her surgeries were professional.

She did not speak out against Ponty or Samadja personally, but still criticized the failure to achieve the personal medals.

But then Arad also went up for an interview at the GLC, the day before the team's battles.

Arad understands today that she was wrong and even apologized for it, both because the next day there was a medal and the timing of the criticism was out of place and also because in the position she aspires to enter, she should be much more stately and certainly not step on the wounded.

In any case, Arad has asked for the past two days not to respond to Samadja's remarks or to Ponty's allusions.

After the gold of Artium Dolgofiat, she delved into the gymnast's achievement and did not want to deepen the rift with the Judo Association that in the past as an athlete was a part of.

The Judo Association has in recent months been almost out of the Olympic Committee's loop of events. It's not that the Ponty guys boycotted, but they made it clear without words that they are autonomy within the Olympic kingdom and that they are not secretive in spite of anyone's. Ponti had receipts in Rio. He is the only one to bring medals. Minister Miri Regev was there in Brazil and closely enjoyed the fame and exposure. Then came all sorts of tournaments like this one in Abu Dhabi with a lot of media noise.

The Judo Association has enjoyed more than any other association in the last five years thanks to its success in Rio.

Now Regev is not here and Hili Trooper is pulling the strings.

The medal here was more important to judo and phonetics than even those in Rio.

Even if Ponty does not run at the end of the election, he will want to continue to lead a strong union, for him the strongest, and to be preferred over the others.

But alongside judo, the other unions are also coming out strong from Tokyo.

The gymnastics brought gold and they have everything else artistic ahead of them.

The swim ended with two finals and a huge depth in the cadre and the Athletics Association is also experiencing a renaissance with finals here, including one in the 45-year-old run after Esther Roth Shakharov.

Everyone wants to bite into budgets and everyone wants to move forward and the cake needs to be divided in a certain way.

Yael Arad or anyone else will have to make sure in the next three years that the athletes win and that no one is harmed by these struggles that make us great titles, but do not always come at the right timing for the athletes.
