ANKARA, SANA- Forest fires raging in six Turkish cities continue to spread for the eighth consecutive day, amid reluctance

Ankara-Sana

Forest fires raging in six Turkish cities continue to spread for the eighth day in a row, amid the Turkish regime's authorities' reluctance to deal with them and their insufficient measures to combat and control the fires.

The Anadolu Agency, speaking on behalf of the Turkish regime, quoted the General Directorate of Forests as saying in a statement that "174 fires have been recorded in 39 provinces since last July 28, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries," adding that "the fires spread in Antalya, Mugla, Isparta, Denizli, Balıkesir and Manisa."

The fires broke out in several states south and southwest of Turkey, including Antalya, Adana, Mugla, Mersin and Osmaniye, and the President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, declared them disaster areas. Despite the control of many fire points in cities on the southern coast of the country, forest fires continue in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions for the eighth day in a row.

The continuous fires since last July have killed seven people and injured 11 others in Antalya, in addition to the death of one person in Mugla, while 36 other people are still receiving treatment in hospitals, according to the Minister of Health of the Turkish regime, Fahrettin Koca.

The Turkish regime was criticized for the government's delay in controlling the fires, which caused an increase in massive material losses and lives, while regime officials did not make statements about the size of the areas affected by the fires.
