The Forestry and Fire Monitoring Platform of the General Authority for Remote Sensing announced that the indicators of the danger of the spread of fires indicate that most of the forest sites in northwest Syria will continue to be affected by the high levels of the fire risk index from today until next Saturday.
The head of the platform at the commission, Dr. Rosa Karmouqa, explained in a statement to the representative of SANA that the platform published an update of its bulletin showing a map of the danger of fire in the forest areas in northwest Syria for the period from the fourth to the seventh of this month.
Qaramuka indicated that, as a result of the rising temperatures and the accompanying drying of the grassy vegetation cover, the high and very high levels of fire risk continue to dominate since the end of last July on most of the forest sites in the northwest of the country until the seventh of this month, with a noticeable increase in the area of sites affected by the high level of risk. The presence of some sites under the level of extreme danger for the next four days, especially on the eastern slopes of the coastal mountain range.
Qarmouma indicated that in previous publications, it was warned of the danger of igniting fires within areas of land with levels of danger that exceed the average, because fires can become dangerous and difficult to control unless they are extinguished while they are in their infancy before they expand.
The platform called for caution and caution not to light a fire and to report any fire or smoke.
