The city is feeling the general economic recovery after the end of the lockdown.
Income tax revenues grew significantly in the second quarter.
The real estate transfer tax washes one million euros more than expected in the coffers.
However, this picture is clouded by the explosion in costs for the expansion of the Wittelsbach school.

- Treasurer René Mroncz started his current report in the main committee on the development of urban finances with a sober statement: "The year 2021 is still characterized by the pandemic." However, he then also presented positive developments.
At around 21 million euros, trade tax revenues are currently still below the planned target of 23 million euros. A comparison with the figures of the previous year shows, on the one hand, that the situation in 2020 was far more threatening. There, after six months, the trade tax target was only around 15 million euros. Mroncz is also confident that it will reach 23 million by the end of the year. The treasurer also feeds his confidence from the fact that the resident companies are well positioned in the medical-technical field.
A clear improvement in the situation can be seen in terms of income from income tax.
Income in the second quarter was around EUR 7.2 million, up 4.9 percent on the previous year.
According to Mroncz, there is a similar plus in the so-called income tax replacement benefit from the country for losses from family benefit equalization.
The most significant increase in income came from the real estate transfer tax.
This trend has been noticeable for years and has been planned accordingly in the budget.
In total, around four million euros were expected for the entire year.
According to Mronzc, however, this approach is clearly exceeded.
He expects additional income of around one million euros.
But the city can also use this money. Above all, the expansion and renovation of the Wittelsbach School is tearing a big hole in the city's purse. The construction costs have risen by a further almost five million euros. Around one million euros of this will be due this year. From René Mroncz's point of view, the current budget will still be in place. Mainly because of the real estate transfer tax, he assumes that the surplus in the so-called current area will rise to around 6.75 million euros.
However, due to the increased investment costs, Mroncz fears very difficult years from 2022.
From the point of view of CSU spokesman Oliver Simon, the consolidation group of the city council should therefore meet again soon.
Before starting to think about the 2022 budget, she should think about where savings can be made.
