Mexico sues arms manufacturers in the US 5:59
(CNN) -
Mexico filed a lawsuit Wednesday against eleven U.S.-based gun manufacturers for firearms that flow from the United States across the border and into criminal hands in Mexico, according to court documents obtained by CNN.
“This flow of arms is not a natural phenomenon or an inevitable consequence of the arms business or the arms laws of the United States.
It is the foreseeable result of the defendants' deliberate actions and business practices, ”the complaint reads.
The manufacturers included in the litigation are Smith & Wesson Brands, INC;
Barret Firearms Manufacturing, INC;
Beretta USA Corp;
Beretta holding, SPA;
Century International Arms, INC;
Colt's manufacturing company LLC;
Glock, INC;
Glock, GESMBH;
Sturm, Ruger & CO, INC;
Witmer Public Safety Group, INC, D / B / A Interstate arms.
The lawsuit was filed in a United States federal court in Boston. This legal action aims to "put an end to the massive damage that the defendants cause by actively facilitating the illicit trafficking of their weapons to drug cartels and other criminals in Mexico," the complaint reads.
