People's Assembly Speaker Hammouda Sabbagh stressed the depth of the strategic relations between Syria and Iran, stressing the need to strengthen these relations in various fields, especially economic and trade, and to raise them to the level of distinguished political relations between the two countries.
During his meeting today in Tehran, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Expediency Council in Iran, noted the cooperation between Syria and Iran in the fight against terrorism, and said, "Syrian blood has been mixed with Iranian blood, which has resulted in victories in the face of this phenomenon that threatens the entire world."
Sabbagh added, "We are facing one enemy and one destiny. Therefore, concerted joint efforts between the Syrian and Iranian sides and activating and strengthening cooperation between them will benefit the two friendly countries and peoples," pointing to the double standards policy pursued by America and the West towards Syria, where the United States views our issues from the Zionist perspective and standard. For his part, Rezaei affirmed that the world is indebted to Syria and Iran in their fight against terrorism and the takfiri groups that have persisted in their terrorism and criminality, praising the victories achieved by Syria's leadership, people and army against terrorism.
Rezaei expressed the Iranian side's keenness to enhance cooperation with Syria in various fields, and said, "Our relations are solid and rooted, and no one can compromise them. There are many who are trying to influence these relations, but the will of the two countries is stronger and we will be side by side at all levels."
The meeting was attended by members of the delegation accompanying the Speaker of the People's Assembly and Syria's Ambassador to Tehran, Dr. Shafiq Diop.
