- Since yesterday morning there has been a state of emergency in terms of traffic in Weilheim: Due to renovation work, the B 2 between the district office and the south roundabout is completely closed for an expected six weeks.
There were no major problems, at least in the morning rush hour, as the Weilheim police station announced on request.
B2 blocked in Weilheim: In stop-and-go through the city
Early in the morning yesterday, many drivers “got through before the road was blocked,” reported traffic clerk Michael Jahn.
With the beginning of the closure there was “a bit of stop-and-go” on the diversion routes, otherwise “no abnormalities”.
The first impression of Andreas Wunder, the head of the public order office in Weilheim's town hall, was similar: "You notice the holidays very much", in many places in the district town there are significantly fewer drivers than usual.
Wunder has some hope when it comes to congestion as a result of the B 2 closure: "Perhaps it will be within limits."

It is clear to everyone involved that there will still be traffic jams and obstructions from time to time.
Of course, the situation is "not the yellow of the egg", according to traffic specialist Jahn, but the renovation work is inevitable: "You have to go through there now." With regard to the diversions, you may have to "improve".
As reported, the state building authority, which is responsible for the B 2, shows diversion routes on the one hand via Pollinger Straße, Unteren and Mittleren Graben, on the other hand via Narbonner Ring and Münchener Straße.
The traffic lights at the corner of Mittlerer Graben / Münchener Strasse are out of order for road traffic during this time, the southern Münchener Strasse in the area between Schützenstrasse and Mittlerem Graben is closed.
