Dr. Haitham Al-Khawaja's literary journey and his story with children's literature was the title of the symposium that was held in the cultural Abu Rummana with the participation of the writer Dr. Ratib Sukkar and the critic Jamal Abu Samra to talk about Al-Khawaja's rich and rich experience.

Al-Khawaja recounted his theatrical upbringing since childhood, where he participated in a school show with the late artist Khaled Al-Rashed and won an award until his love for theater grew in the advanced stages of his high school years, then university and beyond.

Al-Khawaja’s love of theater continued until he turned to his history, where he was credited with pioneering in this field in his book “The History of Theatre” and authoring the first dictionary of children’s plays in Syria until 2007.

Perhaps one of his most important works in theater is a book documenting the theater movement in Homs, attributing his literary beginnings to his two brothers Abd al-Khaleq and critic Duraid Yahya al-Khawaja, who encouraged, trained and inspired him to date the “Father of Arts” in the city of Ibn al-Walid.

Al-Khawaja spoke about his work in the press, which brought him close to media work on the one hand, and gave him the opportunity on the other hand to meet with writers and critics and engage in dialogue with them, thus creating wide spaces for dialogue and dialogue.

Al-Khawaja gave an overview of his experience in children’s literature from the practical and creative sides, pointing to the importance of children’s literature in building a child’s personality, developing his linguistic wealth, deepening his awareness and ridding him of multiple diseases, stressing the importance of children’s book relying on modern writing techniques to keep pace with techniques, scientific innovations and social communication tools, as well as intellectual faculties and literary.

The critic Sukkar reviewed Al-Khawaja's experience in developing children's literature, as he mixed in his texts the arts of story, singing and theater, which earned them a splendor that emulates the beauty of ancient Greek plays, describing this as an authentic theatrical construction.

Dr. Jamal Abu Samra praised Al-Khawaja's literary experience, considering that he is one of the Syrian writers who have given a lot to children's literature in the Arab world through a special imprint that is unique to it.

It is mentioned that Dr. Haitham Yahya Al-Khawaja is a literary and theatrical critic who has more than thirty publications in literary and theatrical criticism. He writes in theater and children’s theater. He is a poet with many critical and intellectual studies. He has published many books and studies, including: “Stations in Arab Theatre, Spectra of Arab Theatre, Educational and moral values ​​in children's theater, children's writing problems, vision and experiences.
