The TTT is developing a new app that is supposed to beautify visitors' stay in the Tegernsee Valley and at the same time guide them better.

It will take a while until it is finished.

Tegernseer Tal - The Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT) wants to better guide visitors around the Tegernsee with a new app for mobile phones and internet and improve their stay.

The app is a mammoth project that will take years to complete and from which locals should also benefit - through easier bookings, less traffic jams and more added value for companies.

TTT has now signed the contract with the experienced developer Alturos.

Tegernseer Tal: App should make visits easier and more relaxed

The basic idea of the app is simple: day trippers and vacationers register and enter their interests. The app suggests suitable offers in the valley: From the journey with timetable information to the perfect restaurant after the event, it tailors the ideal excursion for you. Those who are already there will find interesting offers nearby. The family man receives different suggestions than the 16-year-old cyclist; When it rains, the app names different activities than when it is sunny. "It is definitely something special," says TTT managing director Christian Kausch.

Also because visitors can book all of the offers directly via the app.

Accommodation, parking, shipping, events - all under one roof instead of your own systems.

According to Kausch, staying in the valley should be “efficient and easy”.

The advantages for locals: Less queues at the cash registers;

You can also use the app anywhere for simple payment.

Another advantage that Kausch hopes for is that guests who know where they want to go are less likely to block roads.

The app is also designed to discourage visiting crowded places and instead suggest less crowded alternatives.

Both together will reduce traffic jams and distribute visitors better, says Kausch: "It's also about steering."

Start in winter, completion in three years

The TTT wants to start the offer for the winter season 2021/2022 - but in a greatly reduced form.

The development means "an incredible amount of effort," says Kausch.

The Wallbergbahn requires a different booking system than shipping or a parking lot;

all of this has to be programmed.

There are also legal questions.

He plans at least three years to clarify everything.

For this winter, the app should start with a few functions and only with the most important companies, for example the mountain railways. Kausch wants to inquire about and involve the rest bit by bit. The app will also take over the functions of the TegernseeCard at some point. The goal: to gradually learn what guests need and react quickly. In Germany, the Tegernsee Valley is not the first area to take this route. But it is one of the pioneers.
