Nine years ago, somewhere in August 2012, Israeli-American sprinter Donald Sanford made headlines, and not for the right reasons.
Sanford, who represented Israel in the 400-meter dash at the London Olympics, then claimed that just before the qualifiers, his running shoes were stolen, and the story of course quickly spread all over the world.
But today (Wednesday), against all odds, it seems that another Israeli has managed to surpass Sanford's bizarre story.
Teddy and Luke, the horse rider who represents us in Tokyo who joined the Israeli delegation at the last minute after the release of rider Daniel Blumen, finished his assignment in 42nd place in the jumping qualifiers and failed to qualify for the finals.
Why couldn't he finish in a better place?
At least according to Locke, this is a particularly strange reason.

According to Vlock, a statue of a sumo fighter placed in the area frightened his horse, leading to the low result: "He looks like a scary human," Vlock told the AP.
"He looks completely real. When horses jump, the last thing they want is to see someone next to them who might be fighting you. My horse was scared."
Influenced his result?

"I saw at least four or five horses startled by the sumo doll," added British rider Harry Charles.
"Suddenly when you land, you see someone huge. It's unpleasant for both us and the horses."
