Lattakia City Council continues the rehabilitation and maintenance work of a number of main roads in Lattakia, which was launched at the beginning of this month through the workshops of the Military Housing Branch 2, which came under a grant provided to the council during the government delegation's visit to the governorate last month.

The Director of the Military Housing Branch, Engineer Muhammad Amin Ali, said in a statement to SANA reporter that an amount of 300 million Syrian pounds has been allocated to the Lattakia City Council, according to which a contract was made with the Foundation’s branch to implement maintenance projects for a number of main roads, according to priority, for a period of 90 days.

And he indicated that the work started on the first of this month, which is a maintenance of the asphalt shredder in some of the damaged streets in the city’s neighborhoods through scraping of the worn-out asphalt shredder, after which the sweeping process and spraying of “MCZero” material, and then paving and dirt.

The director of the branch indicated that during the past days, the workshops completed the maintenance of Al-Husseini Street near the Yemen Roundabout, Port Said Street in the Saliba neighborhood, Al-Tabiyat, Antakya Street and behind the Engineers Syndicate.

For his part, the Director of Services and Maintenance in the City Council, Eng. Thaer Jaafar, indicated that the works are being carried out within the council’s plan to rehabilitate the city’s streets, especially the main ones, after the city council was granted a subsidy of 300 million pounds during the visit of the government delegation last month, pointing out that the council contracted to implement the works with The military housing branch and that the rehabilitation process is done for the damaged parts while preserving the sections.

And he indicated that the city council's workshops accompany the works by supervising the implementation and treating and restoring the pits that need maintenance before paving them, stressing that the council was keen to implement the works within the city on Friday and Saturday, including in the streets of Husseini, Antakya and Port Said to prevent overcrowding, in addition to coordinating with the service sectors in a momentary manner. In order not to damage any part after paving.
