Yuen Long suspected an electric shock accident. At 6 o'clock in the morning (August 4), a 73-year-old man was found lying unconscious in a back lane of No. 11 in the Water Wheel House. Sent to Pok Oi Hospital for emergency treatment, but unfortunately died in the end, the family rushed to the hospital, shocked and saddened by the bad news.
The victim worked as a night shift security guard at Yuan Mei Building, 17A-21A, Castle Peak Road-Yuen Long Section, at the scene. He lives in Tuen Mun and his children are from birth. It is known that he discovered an electrical failure in the building at the time and accidentally got an electric shock while inspecting the electrical box.
The police blocked the on-site investigation, and the CLP and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department have sent personnel to understand.
Experts say building security should not check electrical boxes
The chairman of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment Workers Union, Wen Guanxin, pointed out that the security of the building is not a licensed hydropower master. If there is a problem with the building’s electricity, it should be reported to the company’s supervisor to know that it is not advisable to take a risk to check the electricity. Hundreds of amperes can kill you at any time if you get an electric shock. In addition, because of wind and rain for several days, the meter room is wet and conductive.
