Homs-Sana
The updated Cultural Center in Al-Zahraa neighborhood hosted a poetry meeting for the Syrian Jasmine Forum for Culture and Creativity, in which a group of Homs writers and poets presented their diverse literary productions of short stories, thought, spoken poetry and national vertical poems.
In a statement to SANA correspondent, Dr. Hawash Al-Saleh, director of the forum, said that this event is the second literary activity of the forum after its launch last month, and was held to celebrate the experience of the late musician Maher Deeb in memory of his artistic career, who passed away last month.
He pointed out that the forum seeks to show the cultural identity of Homs by highlighting and talking continuously about the creators who gave birth to them, including the writer and poet Abdel Karim Al-Naem, who was talked about at length during the meeting.
Writer Kawthar Najm started the meeting with a thought entitled “Obsession” in which the female self was clearly manifested, while the poet Samer Haddad presented Zajal poetry entitled “Weirdness” that tells about the anguish of absence and distance.
The poet Talib Al-Najm recited a patriotic vertical poem entitled Damascus, where the mother of Arabism and the castle of steadfastness and confrontation is alive, as the poet Mona Al-Assas had a spoken poem entitled Habibi.
The storyteller Muhammad Ali Bilal read a group of very short stories that told about negative social phenomena such as corruption, while the mother of the martyr was present.
From Wadi Al-Nadara, the poet Farah Moussa came to participate in a spinning poem called “Talaat Bayounak”, in which he expressed his feelings towards the beloved.
The meeting was concluded by the poet Afaf Khalil with a patriotic poem she gave to the Syrian Arab Army, entitled “You are the Choice.”
